Love is the most used and abused word in our time.

One of the tweets, “Best Buy of lust can only be through love” Ramgopal Verma

This single sweet encapsulates most if not all understanding behind the concept of love among people today.

A lot of people tend to seek and show it in human nexus. Love is also an important element to human existence. Family is the miniature of human society which stands glued in the bound of love-relationships. It seems that there’s deep longing in human heart to be loved, if not to love. Sadly and mostly humans fail to meet the expectations of one’s aspiration from love relationship. In the process many develop resistance and disappear in oblivion.

And the reason for such failure to love may be caused by human imperfections. Humans are imperfect in everything they do so that their attempts of love do. Human love is selfish and is always insecure about things of life. Which eventually results in broken and shattered relationships. You could easily see people living together in a family but without love. People post pictures and tag #love but that lasts just for a while. And then there are many connotations that love has emerged to posses these days. Like feeling of togetherness, infatuations, attractions, lusts and many others. All these are mistakenly but widely understood and interpreted as love. Which has no time span. It can start yesterday and end this evening, or a month etc. such loves have no depth in it. Thus, even in its purest form human is imperfect. Even parental love, which was once thought to be the purest of all is an incompetent example today. Human love is always cornered with greed, insecurities and self-centredness.

Man is imperfect and will remain same BUT there’s a love that has no imperfection in it. If once experienced it transforms one’s life forever. Such is the power of love.

Everything in the world, including feelings and thoughts, are caused, except divine love.” More…

That’s the divine AGAPE love. Which has no imperfection. It’s a most perfect love that you can ever find. One of the most essential qualities of love is VULNERABILITY.

If you really love someone it will be seen in the extent of vulnerability you have traded for the one you love.

Nobody wants to be vulnerable today. We all want a secured life and a secured future. But look at the love of God that made no reservations for himself and gave his only begotten son for us to die.

“Love is eternal,

Love bright,

Love gives me hope,

Love gives me light”

Jesus became vulnerable to the point of death and gave himself as a sacrifice for us.

“It’s more than a tag in social post,

More than a friends’ host;

More than a morsel of mother,

More than the arms of Lover;

More than a sake of money,

More than a kiss of honey;

More than a rare jewel’s worth,

More than a whole life on earth”

Therefore, I think, being obsessed and transformed by the love of God Paul says in his writing to Romans.

Romans 8:38-39

[38] For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, [39] Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Let this became our slogan for life. Let nothing separate us from the love of God. Moreover when you understand the dept of God’s love you and start loving Him back you would see how God God brings a renewal into your human relationships as well. You will learn to love people around you as God has loved you. You will eventually grow stronger in your relationships not only with God but people.

Let’s remember to prioritise this love above every other in this month of Christ’s birth and fall even deeper in the love of Christ, the lover of my soul.
