6 Questions in Romans: Study Guide

In this epistle of Romans, Paul uses the rhetorical philosophical method (Socratic Method) to explain the concepts. He asks questions and he himself answers them. This helps the readers to understand the complete plan of God for mankind.

There are six questions in Romans. We shall look at them briefly.

1. Shall we escape God’s judgment? Romans 2:3.

The answer is NO! Because:

A. No one is righteous. Romans 3:9

B. God is impartial. Romans 2:11

C. God is the God of justice. Deut. 32:4

But believers in Christ have the advantage.

A. For believers no condemnation. Romans 8:1.

B. Believers are free from the penalty of sin. Romans 6:7

C. Believer’s sins are forgiven. Romans 4:5

D. Jesus is our advocate. Romans 8:34; 1 John 2:1

2. Shall we continue in sin? Romans 6:1

The answer is NO! Because:

A. We died to sin. Romans 6:2

B. Jesus died once and for all. Romans 6:10

C. For wages of sin is death. Romans 6:23

3. Who will save us from sin. Romans 7:4

The answer is, “God saves through His son” Romans 7:24

A. God sacrificed His son for us. Romans 8:32

B. Christ gave His life for us. Romans 10:9

C. Christ intercedes for us. Romans 8:34

4. Is God unjust? Romans 9:14

The answer is NO! Because:

A. His work is perfect. Deut. 32:4b

B. His ways are just. Deut. 32:4c

C. God is God of truth and justice. Deut. 32:4d

Romans 3:3

5. Did God reject His people? Romans 11:1

The answer is NO!

A. He is a gracious God. Romans 11:5-6

B. His love endures forever. Psalm 136:1

C. He never forsakes His people. Psalm 94:14

6. Is the fall of believers beyond recovery? Romans 11:11

The answer is NO! Because:

A. God doesn’t deprive His people forever. Romans 11:11

B. God restores His people for His glory. Romans 11:26
